Let Me Take a Photo Of You

Yesterday was apparently Wife Appreciation Day.

I have no idea who comes up with these random “days,” but hey, I’m a wife, and I like being appreciated!

Recently, A and I started going on rides with his motorbike.

I never thought I would set foot on a bike, but love makes you do funny things, right?

I’ve been loving these rides. Malta is such a beautiful island, and everything’s more enjoyable on a bike than stuck in traffic. Something about it feels so intimate and special.

So, for, Wife Appreciation Day, my husband decided to take me to the northern part of the island to catch the sunset. We literally chased the sun before heading for churros-my favorite treat (it was all part of the plan!).

We sat on a rock, watching the waves, then took a long walk along the beach. Romantic? Yeah, I’d say so.

Just when I thought the evening was over, he surprised me by taking me back to the small village where we had our first date.

As we walked through the old part of the village, he stopped and said, “Let me take a photo of you.”

At that moment, I felt so special.

I know, it doesn’t take much to make me feel all lovey-dovey, but it got me thinking.

I started thinking about what feeling special does to a relationship. Maybe that’s it, maybe that’s all it takes.

I’m not entirely sure why I’m writing this post. Maybe it’s to capture the memory, or maybe it’s to remind myself – and anyone else – how important it is to show your love to the people you care about.

So, here’s your kind reminder to show some appreciation to your special person.

xoxo,
Garance

This blog came to life as a passion project because I wanted to carve out a cozy corner of the internet where I could dive into the worlds of beauty, homemaking, lifestyle, and relationships while throwing in a bit of heart and soul.
