July Favorites : Birthday Gift, Cute Apron, Late-Night Swimming…

Hi there,

I hope that you are well. July has always been one of my favorite months of the year, maybe because it’s my birthday AND my husband’s birthday… So, every year it is quite a celebratory time for us, and I obviously love it.

As we are slowly going towards August, I’d like to share with you some of my July favorites!

Stick Season by Noah Kahan

First of all, if you know nothing about me, you should know that this is what my comfort playlists sound like.

A and I went back to France for a week in July, for my brother’s wedding. It was also the first time that my e n t i r e family was reunited. We rented a huge house in the countryside – it was so fun.

One night, we did a karaoke and my cousins sang this song. I was hooked because I love the song itself but also because at that moment it truly became a core memory.

Now that I am back in Malta, every time I play it, I think about this special moment.

This Adorable Apron

I recently bought this cute apron at Zara Home, I’ve had my eyes on it but I did not feel like spending 20 euros something on it.

Lucky me, a few weeks later, I was glad to find out this beauty was now 12.99 euros. I did not think twice before treating myself !

As crazy as it sounds, once I put on my apron, the motivation kicks in !

Who said we can’t be cute while cooking dinner ?

Velvet Petals Fragance Mist

Now, I feel like I would’ve never bought this mist for myself ever again.

I’m saying ‘ever again’ because I used to buy it when I was 18-19 years old, and then I completely lost interest in any Victoria’s Secret products.

But my younger sisters-in-law bought this for me as a gift when my husband went to visit them.

My first reaction was, ‘Oh, 18-year-old Garance would’ve loved this gift.’ And you know the drill… still love it!

Not only does it smell amazing, but it also makes me feel nostalgic in the best way possible. Thank you, girls!

Late-Night Swimming

One great thing about living on a hot island is that you get to swim whenever you want. I’m not going to lie, you won’t catch me at the beach at 4 p.m. in the middle of July because this heat is something I cannot handle. But I will never skip a late-night swimming session!

There is something about the dreamy landscapes and almost empty beaches that makes it so magical.

To add to the romance, we often go back to beaches we used to swim at when we first met each other.

We’ve always been big fans of night swimming, and this summer was no exception!

My New Sabots

Same story as my beautiful apron… I kept on looking at them, but I was not willing to pay the full price when I found them for 12.99 euros!

If it wasn’t clear yet: You girl loves a good bargain!

I couldn’t resist and even purchased a pair for A, but the size was incorrect and they didn’t have his size in stock. I ended up getting another pair in pink for myself.

Anyone else who loves matching with their husbands?

They are beautiful and comfortable, and they basically are shoes for the house rather than regular sleepers, which helps me feel a little more put together – even on lazy days.

I’m obsessed with them!

My New Watch

I’ve been telling A that I wanted a new watch. I feel like it helps finish up a look! I only had one golden watch, which I still love, but I wanted a different model.

And this man never fails.

He got me this beautiful watch with two different bracelets for when I want some change. I love it so much!

Early Mornings – Main Character Style

Lately I’ve been trying to wake up earlier, not necessarily to be super productive but to simply enjoy my mornings: work on my blog, do some stretching and pilates, have a nutritious breakfast, and spend some time with my husband in the morning before he leaves for work.

It always puts me on the right track for a great day!

I always spend a few minutes staring at the breathtaking view from the balcony – a view that I, too often, take for granted!

My little trick to wake up earlier? Put your alarm on the other side of the room so you actually need to get up to turn it off.

But remember, you can’t wake up feeling fresh and rested if you go to bed too late, that’s just how it works!

I feel like I could write an endless list of things I’ve loved this month, but I do need to stop somewhere, so that will be it for me!

I’d love to hear about your July favorites, so feel free share!

Lots of love,

Garance

This blog came to life as a passion project because I wanted to carve out a cozy corner of the internet where I could dive into the worlds of beauty, homemaking, lifestyle, and relationships while throwing in a bit of heart and soul.
