I’ve always loved Madrid. I worked as an au pair in this city for two summers, and I still cherish this experience so much. It was such an important step for me, the logical next step in my thirst for adventure. I remember one evening, just a regular night as I was walking around, nothing special. My cousin had come to visit, so I wanted to show him around. And in this very place that I’d walked a thousand times, we stumbled upon this incredible musician. I can’t remember his name, but I remember telling him how much his music moved me.
When I first heard him playing, I just sat there for hours. My cousin was ready to go, but I was soaking it all in. I’ve always been a huge fan of music, especially live music, there’s something so special about it. I will always stop for street artists, always. And on this day, I’m so happy I did.
This video is a precious reminder of my love for this city. It brings me nostalgia in the best way possible and makes me realize how far I’ve come. My husband and I returned to Madrid together, and he proposed to me there. So, today, this video means even more than it ever did.
Gracias Madrid.
